STart Crypto Call To Artists: Roots
They sprout underground, building the foundation for plants above to thrive. They grow from our heads, giving life and length to hair, a symbol of self, strength and sensuality. They are passed down throughout generations, defining tendencies, traditions and traits. They represent reason and causality. They define inspiration, as well as conflict.
Endless interpretations exist for this month’s exhibition prompt of Roots. From the literal roots of a tree to your roots as an artist or a person, to the roots of a concept or idea, the direction you take this prompt is completely up to you. We hope that the artworks submitted are reflective of the multi-faceted nature of this prompt and portray each artist’s unique interpretation of “roots”.
How To Participate As An Artist
Artists, you will have the chance to:
- Amplify your exposure and get your artwork in front of new eyes
- Create a meaningful artwork depicting your unique interpretation of Roots
- Participate in an exciting virtual exhibition (and the chance to be spotlighted in a second exhibition)
- Discover and promote the works of other creators
Selected artworks will be showcased in a special STart Crypto group exhibition, taking place on November 10th at 5 pm PST.
The three artists whose works receive the most votes on discord in the week that follows will be spotlighted their own exhibition, hosted and promoted by STart Crypto.
Submissions will be accepted starting October 23rd until 11:59 PST on Friday, November 6th.
Here’s what you need to do to submit:
PUBLISH
- Publish a 1/1 edition in your STart Crypto store
- You may set a price
- Whip out your story telling skills to create a description that pulls your audience in. Be sure your story ties into the prompt in some way.
- Please refrain from including “created for the Roots Exhibition” or similar in your description as that can date your work and can decrease its value
- One submission per artist, and collaborations are okay!
PROMOTE
- Post your STart Crypto art link in the #roots-exhibition channel of our Discord
- Gain more votes and long-term fans by promoting your work on all your social media channels using the hashtags #Roots, #RareDigitalArt and #STart Crypto
DATES TO REMEMBER
- Submissions open starting October 23rd until 11:59 PST on Friday, November 6th.
- Opening night of the Roots Exhibition will take place on November 10th at 5 pm PST.
- Artworks will be showcased and voting will take place from November 10th — November 15th at 11:59 PM
- Winners will be announce on November 17th and details of their showcase exhibition will follow shortly after!

The community, including collectors, will be weighing in to help us select the three spotlighted artists.

- Vote for an artwork by reacting to it in the Roots-Voting channel on Discord. All emojis and reactions count as votes! The three artists that receive the most votes on their submissions will be spotlighted in a special showcase exhibition.
