This piece explores the idea of the self, presenting it as the very nucleus of humankind. It also presents the self in an elevated state, referencing the possibility of attaining a higher state (whether intellectually, spiritually or otherwise). In other words, the piece says that through the elevation of the self, the greater population of humankind can reach a higher state of existence.
