Got inspired to create this when I saw a picture of a Nicobar pigeon for the first time. I was so intrigued by how an animal could look so beautiful and at the same time quite menacing. Almost like it was protecting something...
So I decided to paint this piece, "Guardian", to try and illustrate the feelings I had and what my brain saw once I laid my eyes on this beautiful animal.
A quick sketch was done on paper to help arrange the overall composition. Everything else done on the Ipad Pro using the software Procreate.
