As one of my favorites from the series I am pleased to offer Brane XV to collectors as my first crypto collectible. The meta-micro-macro nature of fishlike drops of water each containing an ocean of their own provides a blank slate of suggestion. One suggestion I’ve always liked from this piece is a wet take on the classic chicken vs the egg origin paradox; how about the fish vs the fishbowl?

For many of the early Branes I harvested photo spheres from Google Street View to use as lighting and reflection sources. This piece utilizes a unique underwater photo sphere that I found in the great barrier reef region off the coast of Queensland, Australia. As opposed to the original 1mb gif that was shared at 400p, this 1080p version allows one to see a whale shark chasing a manta ray in the reflected water.

This is one of my most popular works shared on Tumblr with over 5000 notes. It has been exhibited both online and IRL, and was used in a music video for the Montreal band Noni Wo. Because of the age and popularity of this piece I have decided to create an edition of 6 to allow for multiple collectors to enjoy having this piece in their collection.

The idea of 'sculpture' relies heavily on physicality, three-dimensionality, and an object's existence spatially. Tyson Parks' “Branes” is a series of sculptural works that challenges this notion by imagining the idea of sculpture as it might exist via quantum physics. Each “brane” is conceived as a potentially physical sculpture in the real world that could be produced under more transcendental conditions, introducing the element of time as another essential component to the idea of sculpture.
